Jennifer Anne Garner (born April 17, 1972) is an American actress. She studied theatre at Denison University and began her career as an understudy with the Roundabout Theatre Company in New York City. Garner starred in the Fox series Time of Your Life (1999–2000). She also had supporting roles in the films Pearl Harbor (2001) and Catch Me If You Can (2002). Her big break came as Sydney Bristow in Alias (2001–2006). This role won her a Golden Globe and four Primetime Emmy Award nominations, among other awards. Garner gained further fame in romantic comedies like 13 Going on 30 (2004) and Juno (2007). She also starred in Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009) and Valentine’s Day (2010). Additionally, she played Elektra in Daredevil (2003) and Elektra (2005). Garner has also appeared in many independent films, including Dallas Buyers Club (2013). Her recent works include family comedies like Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014), Love, Simon (2018), and Yes Day (2021). She also starred in action films such as Peppermint (2018) and The Adam Project (2022). Moreover, she featured in the Apple TV+ series The Last Thing He Told Me (2023). Apart from acting, Garner advocates for early childhood education. She sits on the board of Save the Children USA. Additionally, she co-founded the organic baby food company Once Upon a Farm. Garner also campaigns against paparazzi targeting celebrity children.
